I co-founded KOMPASS Education in 2007 and have been managing the non-educational side since then. KOMPASS Education is the first progressive school in Egypt in which 160 students between 1 and 14 learn and grow. The KOMPASS concept is based on Maria Montessori and Reggio Emilia and was inspired by exceptional schools in Germany and Switzerland. As a founder in a small start-up, I was the generalist who covered several functions of school development and school management. Apart from the administrative and operational field, I also had a role in structuring and communicating the the essence of KOMPASS. As the organization matured and a management team formed, my responsibilities became more specialized and led to a clearer separation of educational and non-educational structures. I gave up my role as Chief Operations Officer as I moved to Berlin for personal reasons, but currently serve as the Interim Director of Operations, working remotely until a successor is installed.I am also a Member of the Managing Board.Before starting KOMPASS Education, I was a Corporate Commodity Manager at Siemens in Switzerland and Germany, where I was a member of the Siemens Global Procurement Team, and as such responsible for Key Supplier Managment, Auctions and Corporate Negotiations in the field of procurement of electronic components.My competencies are: Leading, creating, communicating in writing, taking the initiative, analyzing, communicating verbally, perservering, checking, functioning under pressure, deciding, reacting flexibly, self-management and self-development, planning and organizing, noticing, helping and networking.
