I am Carmen Teo and I help individuals, leaders and organization realize their true potential and to collectively help the world become a better place to live. I do this by helping them access their innate wisdom, enhance resilience, discover their values, purpose and mission, and making decisions that are congruent with these core values, through the practice of mindfulness and compassion in group-based mindfulness training and individual coaching.I am a Level 3 fully Certified Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, and a MBSR Teacher Mentor with UC San Diego's Center for Mindfulness's mindfulness-based professional training institute (https://cih.ucsd.edu/mbpti). I am also a fully Certified Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) teacher with the Center for MSC, and an instructor of other mindfulness-based programs (MBPs) such as Workplace Mindfulness, Finding Peace in a Frantic World (FPFC), and Mindfulness for Teens. I have been running in-house mindfulness programs for corporate, education and social institutions since 2015, and also provide customized in-house facilitators' programs to help organizations establish a mindfulness culture. I am also a Certified Workplace Trainer (ACTA) with Workforce Development Agency (WDA Singapore), a Certified Yoga Instructor (of Classical Lineage) and a Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness (TSM) Practitioner. I hold a Doctor in Education (EdD) with research interests on motivation, mindfulness and well-being, reflexive teaching practice, using narrative approach. I'm a lifelong learner and witnessing my teaching and personal practice constantly evolving. I believe that teaching mindfulness meditation requires a strong foundation in personal meditation practice. I've sat in more than 15 silent meditation retreats since 2007. My primary teachers are monastics in the Theravada Thai Forest tradition, and Patrick Kearney. Prior to being a mindfulness and compassion teacher/mentor, I spent 15 years in corporate in the areas of consulting, strategy, analytics, revenue management and marketing. I left a fast-tracked career at the peak of my consulting career to follow my heart's true desire to realize my own purpose/mission of helping the world become a more mindful and compassionate place to live in.
