* Computers: A Better Way *When I was in elementary school, kids were filling up page after page of graph paper with hand-written numbers to see who could count the highest. I've been hooked on silicon ever since.As a physicist I used computers to solve the mysteries of the universe. As a software consultant, the mysteries were in the computers themselves. I helped build mission-critical software applications for some of the world's largest companies and fix them fast when they went off the rails. These days I build sites, services, and software for the world wide web.I can tell you about black holes and the Higgs boson. I've spent time on operating systems from AIX to zLinux. My shell-fu is strong. I pride myself on clear and economical writing. I built a PC media center from scratch and developed a genetic algorithm to optimize my bracket picks for NCAA March Madness.
