Although it was just after the rinderpest, when I started a career in software development (waaaay back in the 1980s!), I eventually launched my own company writing custom business systems. That company was ATAS, and grew over time to hire some more developers and admin staff.Somewhere in the early 2000s, ATAS wrote a system for a conference organiser.It worked so well, they asked us to write something else - and we quickly realised that there were many conference and event organisers needing these tools.So EXBO was born, focusing on our conference software. It now provides a wide range of online tools, such as delegate registration, abstract management, seat/table booking systems, event websites and the like.More recently, EXBO spawned a division for the exhibition and tradeshow industry, called STANDSCAPE. This division focuses on interactive stand bookings and associated tools for this industry.Personally, I am also active on committees and working groups for SAACI, our local Business Chamber, the NMB Business Event Awards and several other projects.
