I became a wellness program manager in 2015, providing holistic healthcare services at a rural Federally-Qualified Health Center, focusing on Latinx, undocumented, low-income people living with chronic pain and mild mental health conditions. In 2018-2022 I directed the operations of a Latino Community Development organization that provides affordable housing, homeownership support, economic advancement, and educational opportunities. In my current role I oversee a portfolio of 11 nonprofits and coalitions that advance culturally specific early childhood programs and initiatives.SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS• Founded a coaching and consulting practice, serving seven organizations (150 people) through state and providing DEI plans, work-life balance strategies, and communication training.• Provided staff training on DEIA and trauma-informed care, created a visa sponsorship program, and adopted Indigenous People’s Day as a paid holiday, and integrated DEI lens within policies.• Led organization’s shift to virtual operations and service delivery with zero layoffs during Covid, while delivering $1.9M in COVID-relief funds, resulting in $1.2M+ in grants and contracts to support this work. • Chaired Southern Oregon Health Equity Coalition, became a member of Jackson County Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Advisory Committee, and served as a member of Health Equity Committee of Oregon Health Equity Board.
