Co-Investigator on the 10-year-long Sleep Heart Health Study with emphasis on women and minority sleep health. Principal Investigator on a Spanish translation of sleep measure with a component included in the PAHO/WHO Su Corazon/Su Vida. Over 40 years as a nurse, primarily hospice & palliative care, and over 15 years as a nurse educator, primarily community & global health. Continue to collaborate on publications relevant to sleep health of minorities, night shift & poorer nurse health outcomes, and sleep policy. over 20 years as a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner (CHTP); assist people in moving toward health and healing though Healing Touch, an energy-based complementary modality that balances enegy fields and chakras for mind, body, spirit balance. Provide sleep disorders and sleep health promotion, and complemetary, alternative and holistic practices classes to health providers enrolled in the University of Guanajuato Certified Diabetes Educator Program.

Drawing from various programs across campus (nursing, business, computing, etc.) developed and implemented online training relevant to the basics of policy, writing and disseminating evidence-based policy with an emphasis on health equity and health promotion in the Spanish-speaking Americas.

Tenured nursing faculty with emphasis on Global Health; Culture Care; Health Equity; Health Policy; Complementary & Holistic interventions. Developed two semester and summer session immersion program titled "International Health for Health Professionals." Sabbatical in 2011 triangulated Harvard University (Sleep disorders), the University of Guanajuato, Leon, Mexico, and the PAHO/WHO U.S. Mexico Border Office in El Paso Texas to develop a Spanish-language chapter "Trastornos del sueño y promoción del sueño saludable."Funded research allowed for the translation and validation of the Sleep Heart Health Study Sleep Habits Questionnaire for Mexicans and Mexican Americans.
