Throughout my life I have held many positions, from supervisor in the US Navy to program advisor at a community college. My experience has built into a passion for helping others succeed. Whether that success comes from completing a long sought after college diploma or transitioning to a new job the end goal is the same: helping others with their goals.

Secretary, Special Education Dept At Bradshaw Mt. High SchoolHumboldt Unified School District # 22 Feb 2014 - Jul 2014Prescott Valley, AzIn the second half of the 2013/2014 school year I was offered a lateral promotion at Bradshaw Mt. High School to serve as the Special Education Department Administrative Secretary. This move shifted my focus from working with the children in the classrooms directly on a daily basis to ensuring the smooth running of the department from a compliance and paperwork point of view. I managed the distribution of all required paperwork for Individual Education Plans (IEP) meetings to parents and teachers, and assisted in managing the Special Education Case Managers' case loads. This helped the department run well and allow the Special Education Teachers to focus more on their educational duties.I was also still able to go out and help with students in the classrooms as I had in the first half of the year, which allowed the students to have continuity of service and care and helped them continue to do well in their classes. -
Administrative Secretary, K-3 Summer SchoolHumboldt Unified School District # 22 May 2014 - Jun 2014Prescott Valley, AzDuring the summer of 2014, I was offered the job of Administrative Secretary to the head teacher of the K-3 Summer School program. While doing this I managed the normal daily attendance reports, transportation needs, and any general administrative tasks a secretary might see.No child really wants to be going to school in the summer. But, what I found was that I was a part of a team that did our best to make the summer school experience fun and fruitful for each student in our care. We had a very successful summer school program that year and the children who attended did advance as they should the following fall. -
Special Eduation Resource Aid At Bradshaw Mt. High SchoolHumboldt Unified School District # 22 Jul 2013 - Feb 2014Prescott Valley, AzIn the first half of the 2013/2014 school year I provided support to the mainstream teachers at Bradshaw Mt. High School in providing a well-organized classroom environment so that each student can benefit from the instructional program required by the IEP (Individual Education Plan).Providing teachers with extra support to manage a class that includes students with special educational needs is vital to ensuring both the student's and the teacher's success. As a classroom based Resource Aid, it was my privilege to provide just that kind of support. Because I had both personal, as a parent of a special needs child, and professional experience with classroom management and special education, I was tasked with providing 1 on 1 assistance to students who were "mainstreamed" in the traditional classroom. This assistance included everything from helping the students stay on task and understand the material to helping the teacher with classroom management and grading work. Helping the students succeed was the main focus of my day. -

Customer Service Representative/Receptionist/Veteran Services Work StudyYavapai College Mar 2009 - May 2013Prescott, AzAs a student attending Yavapai College utilizing my GI Bill education benefits I had the opportunity to work as a Work Study in the Veteran Services Office. This position was a transitional job for me as it was the first I had after leaving the US Navy. I learned how to interact with civilians and veterans in an educational environment while having the privilege of helping my fellow veterans with gaining access to their well earned benefits. This position was clerical in nature and I learned how to manage a busy and detail oriented work load. I assisted in the office's shift from all paper to digital records, which dramatically improved service to the student veterans. As I gained experience in the position I was allowed to supervise and train other incoming Work Study students and help my fellow veterans in their transition back to civilian life. -
Petty Officer 1St Class/Front Line SupervisorUs Navy Jun 1998 - Aug 2008At a young age, I knew I wanted to serve my country. As the child of a military affiliated family, I saw military service as a way to get out and learn new things while seeing new places.During my ten year military career I was trained as a jet engine mechanic, which included working on fuel systems and flight controls. This allowed me to develop puzzle solving and troubleshooting skills that have impacted my entire professional life. I was also tasked with guiding junior Sailors through maintenance procedures, training evolutions, and personal and professional development growth. This was my first exposure to being a leader and the responsibilities that brings.
