If I have learned anything over the last 27 years as a special educator and teacher leader, it is that every child presents with a unique set of gifts and challenges. Students are surrounded by families, community members, and educators who are invested in each student's success. Working collaboratively with team members to identify learning barriers and developing creative solutions is the best part of my job. I am committed to building strong relationships with a diverse student population and advocating for student needs. I am a teacher leader and have had the privilege of engaging in a variety of leadership roles. I have successful experience in program management, online education, event planning, marketing, budgeting, communication, organization, scheduling, and curriculum development at the state and local level. I go beyond the classroom walls and work with my colleagues and stakeholders to impact student learning, initiate innovations, advocate for students, and influence decision-making. In addition, I have presented at regional and national conferences regarding best practices in special education, as well as multiple topics leading to successful public school partnerships. I serve as an officer of the Council for Exceptional Children DCDT Division and as an Idaho Education Association Delegate. I’ve been recognized for my work mentoring new-to-the profession teachers.I am proud of my career contributions and believe I am a collaborative educational leader whose experience, knowledge, skills and enthusiasm contribute to student success inside and outside the classroom.
