DAPER is the acronym for Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation. The group consists of coaches, PE instructors, a full scale fitness/aquatics center staff, administrators and directors. There are over 100 full time people and hundreds of part time people. There are some people who work remotely and some that work in their office and remotely. The ultimate requirement is access to data wherever we are on whatever platform we choose.They are a technically diverse group of professionals who use Mac and PC laptops, Mac and PC desktops, iPads, iPhones, and Android devices. These devices use Windows 7, Windows 8, Mac OS10, IOS and android. If they need to use their personal laptop I install and educate on how to use applications remotely. If they buy a new phone I point them to the pages for configuring email and access to the VPN. I provide information on iPad applications that can boost their productivity. We have a Windows 2000 server for sharing files along with Drobbox. We have FileMaker databases created for day camp, Physical Education, budgeting, personnel and athletics scheduling. We have presentation laptops and projectors. Some of the staff like to investigate and use the brand new apps or hardware. One example is the Athletic Training staff who went out and purchased new laptops with Vista on them. I needed to learn Vista as quickly as possible so I could equip the laptops with the applications the training staff needed.During this time I also obtained a degree in Graphic Design. I use some of those skills keeping up the department website, consulting with Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation on their websites as well as editing photographs and creating interactive PDFs.

I supported a group of engineers with all their computing needs.

We were responsible for visiting the sites of network requests throughout the instate providing estimates based on the number of drops and devices. We supported newly developed network software such as email, ftp and logins to mainframes. We were the first line for determining where network issues needed to be directed and followed the repair process to successful completion. We developed processes that involved many levels of Network Services providing road maps for installations and repairs.
