Instructed ~360 students about key principles of ecological statistics and data analytics while promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment, resulting in 95% of 117 students who completed the university’s Student Opinion of Instruction survey ranking my instruction as good-excellent.

• Carefully selected and trained predictive models using R, adjusted statistical analysis methodologies to fit project needs based on current literature and project constraints, discussed results, and made recommendations for wetland protection to land managers.• Uncovered trends in a large (> 500 GB) genomic dataset using python scripts and bash in a UNIX environment for 10+ computationally intensive analyses, resulting in critical population information for the king rail, a threatened marsh bird species.• Designed and led 2 projects by prioritizing tasks for efficiency, leading meetings to communicate goals to team members, reviewing literature to ensure scientifically rigorous methods in the lab and field, and providing regular progress updates.• Led hiring, reference checks, and training for 5 field technicians; created detailed work plans and schedules; demonstrated effective and emotionally intelligent leadership, resulting in successful data collection and team cohesion.
