• Provide career coaching and education/training guidance to participants of Pathways out of Poverty Program by:o interpreting WorkKeys and Talent & Fit assessment results;o coaching participants on career exploration exercise, using O*NET web site and resources;o assisting them with decision-making process for occupational choice(s);o guiding them on creation and implementation of short- and long-term education and work action plans;o providing encouragement, support, and accountability through their change process.• Provide employment specialist services to WIA clients by:o assisting with resume development (including the Michigan Talent Bank);o engaging them in career exploration and assessments;o creating action plans which involve overcoming barriers;o teaching job search strategies;o guiding them in an intensive job search, including use of the Internet and personal networks.• Coach and support clients to improve job search skills and resumes as well as to keep motivated and engaged in their action plans• Provide information and referrals to other resources to assist in overcoming barriers to employment• Develop and lead training workshops based on job search and life skills themes• Create alliances with training partners, educational institutions, and other area agencies to enhance service delivery to clientele• Consistently meet and exceed employment and retention goals
