Carol has devoted her academic and professional career to child and professional development. An expert in instructional design and staff training and development, she has a gift for translating the philosophy of her companies into tangible goals and strategies for her staff to follow. Carol began her career at Classroom, Inc., a company that leverages technology to offer compelling real life problems for students to work through. At Classroom, Inc., Carol partnered with hundreds of students and teachers across the country and helped design and launch the company’s teacher training program. As a graduate student at Northwestern University, Carol gained more in depth knowledge of how to use different technologies and new media in a variety of settings to create fun, engaging learning experiences for kids. Carol returned to Deer Mountain Day Camp in 2003 to pursue her passion for helping children grow socially and emotionally and learn to feel more comfortable with themselves. Two years ago, she and her sister founded Deer Mountain Sports & Events, a company that designs and executes year round enrichment programs for children in educational settings.Carol holds a BA in Human Development from Cornell University and a Masters in Education from Northwestern University with a focus on Learning Sciences. An avid athlete, Carol was a ranked competitive tennis player and played on Cornell Women’s Varsity Tennis Team.
