Public Policy Associate
I love public policy! Before Covid-19, I was working part-time as a Public Policy Associate for the Redwood City | San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce researching, summarizing and tracking bills as they moved through the legislative process. I also tracked issues that were headed for the ballot via initiative or referendum. Chamber legislative research was aligned with its committee structure; bills usually focused on the areas of economic development, education, housing and transportation, and/or legislative matters, but not always. Committees were and are lively, interesting, well-organized and well-attended forums where local leaders in business, government, education, transportation, housing and labor gather to learn, exchange information, and collaborate with one another.
