Membership organisation consisting of mostly American and other companies in South Africa. Increased membership by 50% over the years which includes 10% attrition per year. Compiled and submitted nearly 70 policy submissions on proposed legislation in conjunction with members who were experts in their fields. Met regularly with government officials to discuss proposed legislation and intervened on policy issues. Prepared for and managed nearly 70 Board Meetings (10 per year). Offered 15 plus events to members per year ranging from 50 to 500 delegates. Equates to nearly 170 events over the 10 year period.Paved the way to address parliamentary portfolio committees on proposed legislation - was turned away at first as I represented American companies. Coined the phrase 'American companies who employ South Africans" which still gets used today. Changed the name of all committees to "Forums". Offered 9 Forum meetings every two months.Addressed visiting VIPs and MBA students from International Universities on South Africa.Travelled abroad regularly on Door Knocks to discuss problems in SA and enlist support. Met a number of celebrities including President Joe Biden, the late Arch Bishop Tutu, Angelina Jolie, Richard Branson, and the late Nelson Mandela. Worked with 8 Presidents over the years - interestingly some were excellent and some not. One was even totally oblivious of what the organisation stood for.Gathered interesting insights over the years which will make for an interesting book. Watch this space.
