Oversees author visits, special events and program planning, coordination, organization and promotion (publicity & marketing); develops and maintains public relations through community education, involvement and support; increases revenue through grant writing and fund-raising for those library areas not covered by federal, state and local funding. Acts as the facilities manager, insuring that the building meets the needs of staff and patrons. Develops policies and procedures. Oversees staff training.

Issued call for proposal for breakout and special sessions for the state library convention. Organized 75 programs and events; edited and formatted text for convention print program and marketing.

As assistant to the director of the Gadsden Reads Big Fish literacy project, responsibilities included all aspects of the organization, marketing, promotion and public outreach of the program as well as serving as secretary to the Gadsden Reads board meetings. This was a ten-month project, which included a major outreach to the local high schools and a public art display.

At JEFFCO's Warren Tech Horticulture School, provided horticultural, academic and behavioral modification support to special education and high-risk students at the Junior and Senior high school levels. Goals were to bring students into a hands-on horticultural environment in which they were able to learn the reading, writing and work skills necessary to obtain employment in the horticultural industry.

Employed as a general contractor by the JSU Archaeology Department for multiple excavations in Calhoun County, AL. Duties included preparing and securing sites, excavating, processing artifacts, photographing, mapping, and conducting public relations with the local residents. In addition to these duties, was also responsible for the instruction of various field schools associated with Jacksonville State University, the Anniston Museum of History, and local Girl Scout troops. Instruction ranged from elementary to college level.
