As a Partner at Barclay Damon admitted to practice in New York and the U.S. District Court, Northern and Western Districts of New York, I concentrate my practice in environmental exposure litigation, product liability, and general negligence. I also serve as Chair of the firm's Mass & Toxic Torts Practice Area, where I work with 20 attorneys and several paralegals in the defense of these matters.My experience with environmental law began early in my career with my work in over 600 actions involving Love Canal litigation. I possess extensive experience in massive tort actions, defending individuals and business alike against claims and allegations of property damage and personal injury. I have litigated thousands of claims for damages involving alleged asbestos exposure, and my day-to-day practice involves the defense of companies and individuals in lead paint matters.I have had the opportunity to present at national conferences regarding emerging issues in asbestos litigation and the defense of lung cancer claims as well as serve on a panel covering voir dire, settlement conferences, and evidentiary issues at trial. Some of my recent publications cover topics such as indoor air pollution, admissibility of expert testimony, and trends in asbestos litigation.I am happy to collaboratively work with clients in the active defense of these matters. I also enjoy my opportunities to provide general information on legal trends or strategies in the defense of cases. To assist my clients, I present lunch-and-learns at their offices, present at in-house CLE’S, and provide email updates and alerts as to new cases, decisions, or other events of interest.Outside of work, I enjoy gardening and have joined groups and classes in the study of wine pairings and Oenology.
