RoleChief of Staff to the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of Investment Services, BNY Mellon’s largest division consisting of six businesses with 40,000 employees globally, generating $US10 billion in revenue, $US2.5 billion in profits and managing $US29.1 trillion in assets under custody and administration representing 25% of the world’s investable assets.• Led a team of five people responsible for oversight of all corporate, strategic, business and HR related issues on behalf of the CEO.• Strategic management of CEO’s schedule to ensure alignment with key corporate, sector and business line priorities.• Worked closely with Investor Relations and Marketing on CEO presentations for all BNY Mellon Board and Executive Committee meetings, Quarterly Earnings announcements, analyst/investor briefings, client and regulatory meetings, industry conferences, sector-wide communications and community partnership programs.Key Achievements• Served in various senior leadership positions including member of BNY Mellon’s Operating Committee (senior decision making body), Investment Services Executive & Operating Committees.• Managed alignment, execution and tracking of results for the restructuring of Investment Services businesses under one umbrella to strengthen collaboration and reduce costs by $US500m over 3 years.• Actively drove the Diversity and Inclusion agenda as Joint Chair of BNY Mellon’s Women’s Initiatives Network (APAC), mentored three “high potential” women and participated in the Signature Leadership program, which resulted in a pipeline of 400 high potential candidates with 15 professional new hires.• Inaugural team member of BNY Mellon’s Community Partnership with the Harlem Children’s Zone, mentoring students on workplace practices.

Role• Member of the corporate CAO Roundtable (peak administrative body).• Led a team of 25 people responsible for Asset Servicing’s Business Strategy, Learning & Development, Internal & External Communications and MIS.• Managed day-to-day administration of BNY Mellon’s second largest business division, including governance and management reporting, compliance, real estate relocations, business continuity planning (Hurricane Sandy and Storm Athena), signing authorities, employee engagement, town halls and offsites.• Managed day-to-day responsibilities of the CEO, Asset Servicing including staff meetings, presentation materials and ad hoc projects.• Managed a $US30m budget.

Role• Established BNY Mellon’s corporate development presence in APAC.• Worked closely with APAC Executive Committee to develop a five-year growth strategy responsible for delivering $US2bn in revenues by 2012.• Managed deal process and due diligence teams for complex strategic transactions worth over $US1.1bn in Australia, Japan, India, Hong Kong and South Korea for asset servicing, asset management and corporate trust.• Member of APAC Operating Committee.• Joint Chair of Women’s Initiatives Network (WIN) APAC Regional Committee and WIN Hong Kong.

Role• Led a team of three people responsible for delivering BNY Mellon’s EMEA growth strategy through mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.• End-to-end deal management process including analysis, identification of opportunities and risks, due diligence and preparation of bids, obtained internal approvals, reviewed MOU’s, Heads of Agreements, Term Sheets, Confidentiality Agreements and SPA’s.• Internal communications of deals to senior management, including the Chairman, CEO and CFO.Key Achievements• Promoted from Senior Manager to Head of European Mergers & Acquisitions (2005) then to Managing Director (2007).• Worked on the close of the largest transaction undertaken by The Bank of New York at the time, which saw BNY acquire JPMorgan Chase’s corporate trust business ($US2.8bn) and JPMorgan Chase’s acquisition of BNY’s retail banking and regional middle-market business ($US3.1bn).• Jointly led a 30+ global deal team to undertake a +€500m acquisition in the Italian securities services market. • Led a 12+ member global deal team responsible for negotiating a three-way joint venture focused on custody and fund administration in the Middle East.

Made a strategic decision to step away from the corporate world to gain a new perspective. Complete with project plan and fully costed budget, travelled across 34 countries including Central and South America, Russia, India, China, Japan, Cambodia, Israel, Egypt, Jordan and East Africa. Upon resuming my career, was able to apply some of the economic, political and cultural insights gained through these experiences, while working on transactions in emerging markets.Key Achievements• Hiked the 50km Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (4,500m, Peru); the volcanically active, Mr Stromboli (1,000m, Italy); mini-trekked the Moreno Glacier (Chile) and completed a camel caravan into the Sahara Desert.• Wrote a book on my travel adventures (still in draft form)!

Role• Analyzed private equity investments in financial services technology companies that provided Deutsche Bank with strategic partnerships in cutting-edge technology and e-business solutions.Key Achievements• Developed a relationship management strategy for more aggressively leveraging synergies across 50+ portfolio companies.

Following the acquisition of Bankers Trust Company, worked with regional sales managers to segment clients, identify new focus markets and deploy resources to enhance sales productivity and market positions. Sales revenues increased from $US609m to $US950m in 1999.

Led a global team of six people responsible for the integration of Global Institutional Services sale force during the Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust Company merger, which solidified DB’s position as one of the global leaders in transaction services.

• Managed multiple projects to identify, develop and roll-out new products, new business and new market segment opportunities across Client Processing Services.• Successfully managed the acquisition of Sumitomo Bank of New York Trust Company’s fiduciary business and the divestment of BT’s Defined Contribution business (record keeping) to MetLife.

Led a team of three people responsible for managing BTAL’s corporate media and public relations activities across all divisions (funds management, corporate finance, stockbroking and financial markets) in Australia, Hong Kong and New Zealand.

Managed ANZ Funds Management’s corporate media and public relations activities including unit holder meetings of unlisted property trusts following the Federal Government‘s introduction of a 12-month freeze on all property trust redemption's, following the 1990 financial collapse.

Managed REIA’s media and public relations activities including the successful implementation of the home loan affordability campaign during the 1990 Federal Election.

Located in the Strategy and Campaigning unit, I was responsible for analysing and providing written reports on qualitative and quantitative research to the Federal Director, Mr Tony Eggleton AO, CVO.
