I currently teach courses in modernist fiction and drama, business and professional writing, as well as first- and second year writing and critical thinking. Family in literature, children's lives in literature, women's intercultural lives have been focuses in recent first-year seminars. Pedagogy that encourages active learning through collaboration as well as individual activity shapes courses I teach. I also offer workshops, presentations, and individual academic success guidance to help students learn, in completing the reading, writing, and critical thinking required in a liberal arts education, to prepare them for life-long, global learning, professional excellence, and service. I coordinated the general education advising program for Wofford College: organizing cohorts of faculty advisors, providing professional development resources and programming, serving as an advisor for faculty members as well as students, coordinating the summer advising team for incoming students, and offering academic success workshops and individual academic success support for students.In coordinating the general education advising program, I supported and offered professional development for rotating cohorts of faculty academic advisors for pre-major students. I created and offered introductory and continuing development workshops for faculty, organized a LMS page of resources supporting faculty advising, offered input on support for students facing challenges in completing their educations, led a summer advising team for incoming students, and spoke about the value of liberal arts education and academic success, virtually and in-person.An active member of NACADA, I have presented at regional, annual, and international conferences and have served as a Lead QEP evaluator for SACSCOC accreditation teams focusing on faculty advising.
