Recovery Officer
CurrentI currently work with the Arrears Team for Cross Keys Homes and have done since 2003 prior to this I was a Housing Advisor in the area office. I have a large range of knowledge in rent collection, and how his is obtain either by banker’s standing order, direct debt and cash payment at the Area Office, post office or pay zone and over the phone by debt card or via the internet. We are able to request deductions from someone benefit via the department of works and pension and via an outside agency for the collection of outstanding debt. As part of my role in Arrears I currently populate clearview for management purposes to show the KPI figures for our teams targets to demonstrate that we meet both our individual and team performance indicators with relationship to Cross Keys Homes strategic bridges. I manage a number of spreadsheets including one to show evictions so that at any point we are able to advise how eviction/repossessions have been carried out. I have overall management of my area of collection this includes recovery of all debt owed to Cross Keys Homes that comes under the Eastern area of Peterborough and can cover all tenancy types from general needs, sheltered and shared ownership. I prioritize my workload weekly to ensure tasks are completed within the required time frame, where I am aware that I may not complete the required task I make the customer aware of this and negotiate a new deadline. I use my calendar for any appointment with tenants, future meetings and future work tasks. However I will cover other aspects of the recovery process, this can include housing benefit awards updates, unpaid direct debts. I enjoy the challenge and diversity of my role and enjoy working in an environment where continuous improvement is promoted.I represent Cross Keys Homes on a regular basis advocating on behalf of Cross Keys Homes to obtain the required outcome. This requires explaining to both tenants and court officials why we have had to apply to court.
