I help nonprofits and foundations understand how to take an idea from inception through implementation so they can have their visions realized. As an Independent consultant, I help nonprofits and businesses alleviate poverty, focusing on nonprofit development issues, including strategic planning, organizational capacity building, fundraising & foundation partnerships, board development, communications, project management, and research. I also help for-profit entities build their philanthropic initiatives that reflect their companies' values.

Manage all aspects of foundation relationships from cultivation, stewardship, proposal development and reporting. Led effort that secured the largest grant in the organization's history.

Facilitate networking and cultural navigation for delegates attending the annual October gathering that focuses on poverty alleviation, located in Ixtapa, Mexico.

Led founder-based organization to a professionally staffed non-profit; oversaw rebranding and new communication campaign; established first social networking presence; implemented first indicator-based evaluation program; relocated organization to Washington, DC; achieved foundation fundraising matching requirement; expanded the organization's work to a new Asian country; and oversaw efforts to formalize/standardize in-country training.

Initiated and managed national-level technology projects of over 60 million dollars in Chile, Mexico, UK and Canada. Oversaw multi-million dollar independent evaluation effort of $200M+ U.S. Library Program that brought computers, internet and training to over 10,000 US public libraries. Launched and administered annual one million dollar award program, recognizing world library innovation;

Oversaw all international activities of 65,000+ member association. Managed ALA Library Fellows Exchange program; launched international collaborations with book fairs, including Guadalajara and Zimbabwe; coordinated activities of over 20 ALA member committees and round tables.

• Supervised staff of seven individuals, administering a broad array of research grants, fellowships, and training programs in the humanities and social sciences, and policy-related disciplines; • Developed and intensified relations with libraries and archives in the states of the former Soviet Union (FSU) and Central & Eastern Europe (CEE), through collaborative projects, e-mail and Internet initiatives, and graduate & post-doctoral level training programs; • Created, designed and administered annual international competition for Special Projects in Library and Information Science, and monitored and assessed those projects that received grants; • Administered training opportunities for FSU librarians via the Freedom Support Act Graduate Fellowship Program; program evaluation through site visits, e-mail, telephone, and correspondence; budget and expenditure control; and formal program assessments;• Wrote seven and eight figure grant proposals to government and private sources; • Planned, negotiated, and organized the opening of a Moscow-based IREX office.• Worked closely with IREX's 16 overseas offices in the FSU and CEE; and• Managed and supervised projects with total program budgets of several million dollars.
