A communications, media, and gender specialist with diverse experience across humanitarian, development, peace building, and private sectors with expertise on African affairs, human rights, and global policy. For more than 12 years, I have served in designing and developing humanitarian-driven programs, cross-sector social impact initiatives, girls-centered programming, and innovative communications strategies that guide, inform, and mobilize transformative, empowered, and meaningful social impacts, primarily but not limited to, Africa. With a solid commitment to social justice, my work has involved steering youth-led media initiatives that position adolescent girls to become both the producers and technicians of their own message, spearheading highly collaborative partnerships that mobilize open movements and bolster journalism and the protection of journalists in West Africa, while advising on community programs addressing the impacts of fragile and marginalized urban dynamics. Both domestically and internationally, my work also encompasses women in conflict, post-conflict, and transformative peace building, innovating capacity and strategic engagement for advancing the global reach and influence of the African women’s movement, its leadership and feminist activists. From governments to NGOs to corporations and philanthropists, within donor and policy-circles, I have assisted in creating robust strategic partnerships, leveraging social investments, stealth programming, media strategy and documentation in ways that create value and maximize potential.
