As Collection Photographer – Technical Imaging I find all my passions; art, technology, research and collaboration.I’m responsible for the photography of the paintings collection and for conservation and research purposes.Currently I’m involved in the photography of the Night Watch and the Vermeer paintings. For research purposes I photographed the Vermeer paintings in a super high resolution in tiles of 5 microns, which are stitched together. These images will be available online in 2023.With former fellow photographer, I am responsible for implementing of guidelines. Together, we wrote our first practical guide in 2015 to achieve a shared standardized workflow. In 2021, we published the second manual: Photography 2D Objects Manual - Part 1. Rijksmuseum guidelines based on dE 2000.At several international symposia, we gave presentations and workshops on the subject.Together with color scientists, we conducted research on the color targets used in photography of 2D objects. An article of this was published in 2021: Exploring the limits of color accuracy in technical photography, by Eric Kirchner, Carola van Wijk , Henni van Beek and Tammo Koster; Heritage Science in 2021.My collection photography has been published in successful publications such as Costume & Fashion, Bianca M. Du Mortier, Rijksmuseum 2016, Paris 1650-1900: Decorative Arts in the Rijksmuseum, R. Baarsen, 2012, Yale University Press, and Art Nouveau In The Rijksmuseum, J.D. van Dam & J.J. Heij, Rijksmuseum, 2010.
