Wildlife and landscape/seascape photography, specializing in images of shore and wetland birds, and Cape Cod and other coastal areas. I print miniatures (2x3 inches) of my digital images on specially coated fine art papers using archival inks, and mat in frame them in a variety of painted, 4 x 5 inch frames with easel backs. My photos also are available in larger sizes. My work is sold in galleries in Provincetown and Orleans, Massachusetts, and I sell the miniatures at art shows and fairs in Connecticut and Massachusetts, mainly during the summer months.

Pro bono education on enhancing the immune system and preventing chronic and infectious disease through nutrition and nutraceuticals. Focusing on the health of postmenopausal women and cancer survivors, based in the nutritional regimen of SC Miller, PhD, McGill University Faculty of Medicine.

Lead Planner for "Healthy Connecticut 2020," including the 2014 "Connecticut State Health Assessment and State Health Improvement Plan." Consulted with categorical health program leadership to develop collaborative statewide health improvement plans [e.g., chronic disease prevention and control (diabetes, heart disease and stroke, cancer), injury prevention, sexual violence prevention, genomics]. Wrote and/or edited major surveillance reports, including several annual volumes of the Connecticut Registration Report (Vital Statistics), the Healthy Connecticut series, and reports on Women's Health and Minority Health. Developed requests for proposals. Co-wrote, edited, or reviewed successful grant proposals to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Developed and conducted workshops on Health Improvement Planning, Health Priority Setting, and related subjects for public health professionals and consultants. Developed and managed Web content for Public Health Systems Improvement, State Health Planning, Genomics, and other areas of the agency's Web site. Designed covers and formatting for many reports and other publications.

Directed all operations of an aquatic environmental and toxicological laboratory. Culture of aquatic animals, and acute and chronic toxicity testing of wastewaters, using marine and freshwater fishes and invertebrates, consistent with State and Federal standards.

Founder and director of an aquatic research laboratory dedicated to improving methods of keeping marine and freshwater animals in captivity. Developed research protocols, supervised research, and published results in peer-reviewed journals. Wrote successful grant proposals to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and National Science Foundation. Authored one book ("The Basic Marine Aquarium") and many journal articles on seawater analysis, aquarium microbiology, and fish parasitology. Served on the Editorial Advisory Board of AQUACULTURE (Elsevier Science Publishers). Taught course on Seawater Analysis as part of the AquaVet program at the Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, MA. Adjunct faculty member at Eastern Connecticut State University.

Designed and directed all curatorial and educational operations and programs of a public aquarium with exhibits aimed at school-age children. Wrote grant proposals and obtained grants from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and the Ensign Bickford Corp. Designed and constructed exhibits. Developed protocols for animal husbandry (fishes and invertebrates), including disease prevention and treatment, freshwater and seawater analysis, and maintenance of aquatic culture systems.
