Managed all aspects of the equine program at one of the largest therapeutic riding centers in the country. Responsible for the health, safety, welfare and training of over 30 horses. As a certified therapeutic riding instructor: Promoted the physical, psychological and social well-being of persons with disabilities through their interaction with a therapeutic team consisting of myself, a horse and volunteers. - Supervised over 25 people including staff and volunteers. - Increased the number of volunteers within the equine program. - Trained volunteers on equine care and handling. - Developed protocols with other department managers to ensure a safe, effective program for our clients. - Collaborated with lead management team on strategic planning. - Managed several special events such as: Continuing Education Clinics, Barn Team Trail Ride Fundraiser, National Association Workshops and Certification Conferences and The State of Colorado Equestrian Special Olympics. - Achieved budgetary goals of the equine department.
