Carol graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1996. Working in South African secondary and tertiary hospitals thereafter, she gained clinical experience in a broad range of disciplines. She then worked in the United Kingdom, concentrating on general paediatric and neonatal intensive care management, and returned to Red Cross Children’s Hospital in 2000 to work in general paediatric and HIV management for the following six years. During this time she was involved in clinical research, published a research article and completed a Diploma in HIV management. Carol has been in private general practice since 2006. She has a holistic approach to patient care with particular interest in child and adolescent health, women and men’s health, family health, mental health and HIV management, including antiretroviral treatment. After a fulfilling nine years association with a practice in the Gardens in Cape Town – previously Hofmeyr Street Practice, now Doctors’ Rooms on Kloof, she will be relocating to Victoria house Medical practice in Rondebosch, to join Dr Didi Pringle in a Family Medicine Practice. Carol is married with three year old twins. She has been involved with the South African Multiple Birth Association (SAMBA), lecturing on breast-feeding multiples and incorporates into her practice mother/ infant/ child issues- both physical and emotional.
