About Carol Deeney

Carol, founder, chef and Managing Director of Deeney’s. Born and bred in a Scottish café, she’s spent her whole life cooking tasty food for the people around her. In the summer of 2012 she decided to give up her day job, and do what she loves full time, focusing on the haggis toastie. Described as one of London's best sandwiches by the Evening Standard, Time Out and Buzzfeed, The Macbeth haggis toastie is making quite a name for itself.The street food stalls selling the haggis toasties were launched in 2012 and they have since set up a licensed cafe site in Leyton and a cafe concession at the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow.In September 2017 a franchise was opened in Japan by local couple Yoko and Kitz. They operate from a converted caravan across Tokyo and at their permanent site in Shinjuku.
