This challenging and exciting project has been a year-long, leading-edge effort involving global research, realignment, coordination and content creation to consolidate diverse content and best practices about software cost estimating into a cohesive Software Cost Estimating Body of Knowledge (SCEBoK,) on behalf of the International Cost Estimation and Analysis Association. SCEBoK is set to release in spring of 2021, and was a culmination of my skills to: a) orchestrate and facilitate input from a diverse team of international experts (reminiscent of ISO standards development); b) research academic and industrial sources for relevant and adaptable content; c) apply my subject matter expertise in software measurement and development to software cost estimation, and d) create salient technical content that is timely, consistent, , and understandable for software cost estimating professionals worldwide. SCEBoK codifies and standardizes software cost estimation knowledge and is the foundation for a new, international certification that will test core competency in this emerging field.
