I am a semi-retired former federal government employee who has spent the last thirteen years traveling the world while working periodically and I am now seeking a new, fulfilling career challenge. I believe that my diverse experience, compassion, passion, and professionalism would be an asset to any team, particularly one with a training focus.I spent eight years as a Military Police officer, responsible for a number of complex, sensitive investigations. I commanded my own section for three years in downtown Vancouver, developing and implementing policy for that section, liaising with many agencies, including CSIS, RCMP, NSIS, American Military Intelligence, as well as high levels of the Canadian military. I had responsibility for a number of intelligence and counter-intelligence operations.I was a correctional officer for many years at a federal penitentiary, dealing directly with both male and female inmates, as well as being a staff training officer, both at the penitentiary and at the regional Staff College, instructing new and potential staff in many components. This role had an important mentoring component to it. I was also a project officer charged with coordinating and liaising with over 1200 prison volunteers, and developing and delivering a training program to new volunteers. I have done a great deal of public speaking in both formal and informal settings, to small and large groups. I have twice delivered an Interpersonal Skills course to college students at Great Plains College, as well as a Human Sexuality course and Adolescent and Adult Psychology, all of which were extremely well received. I worked for the United Nations in Chad as a security training officer, completely in French. In 2017 I attended the Veterans Training to Eradicate the Use of Child Soldiers program at the Romeo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative, where I received the sole award given, which was for passion and dedication to the Initiative.
Listed skills include Counterterrorism, Emergency Management, Military, National Security, and 10 others.
