Along with encouraging clients to understand their insurance AND engage with their healthcare providers I constantly work to encourage engagement in local and national civic affairs. By volunteering with the League of Women Voters Austin Area. Working along side other men and women, we can educate and empower people to vote on local issues. In order to do these types of volunteer projects, I must work! I sell Medicare insurance and advise people on their Medicare options. As a former financial adviser I guide my clients to financial success by reviewing insurance options and discussing financial strategies surrounding health care as we age. I have the opportunity to work with my clients and their financial advisors and attorneys. Health-care costs play a large role at all income levels and I've seen the devastation of bad decisions. While diving into the murky waters of Social Security and Medicare may not sound like fun to many, it is all in a day’s work for me. The Social Security pool is deep, wide and could be complicated by multiple marriages, death of a spouse/partner, or drawing and suspending benefits.
