My role was to manage and implement several strategy projects for the health & wellbeing department.

This unique internal cadetship programme consists of rotations across various company functions. For the duration of the programme, I will gain an insight into the core business and also provides the opportunity to work in a business area of my choice.

My role is to advise new business with the best corporate health insurance for their employees. I meet with clients/prospective clients nationwide and tailor specifically to each industry and requirements. I present & roll out this programme to employees. I implement and develop sales strategy campaigns with high energy and focus. Retaining existing clients, building excellent relationship with clients and prioritizing so that they are all managed with the best service and professionalism. All the while keeping up to date with the market.

Laya Healthcare prides itself on delivering the very best in customer service. The standard is very high. My job was to deliver this while understanding each customer and closing each call confident that their needs were met. Each situation was delicate and required skill, discretion and savvy. I am also CIP (certified insurance practitioner) qualified, completing all 6 modules.

This was one of the toughest yet extremely satisfying roles in my career. I was challenged daily by individual customers who due to financial or market competition made a decision to lapse their membership. It was my job to be empathic while concluding a 'win win' situation. Each call presented an entirely different circumstance therefore thinking fast to take charge and then lead the situation into a favourable outcome for the customer while maintaining the business. Balance was key.

Formerly Bupa Ireland, I started off with Bupa UK corporate department until Bupa Ireland left the market in May 2007. Medical training in a theoretical sense only was something that set me up massively to understand how the logistics of health insurance worked. Serviced all UK corporate clients to pre-authorise treatment and advise accordingly.
