People are my passion!Whether guiding and/or supporting children, adults, administrators, team members or co-workers, I provide a direct path for success and achievement. This has been the backbone of my rewarding twenty-five years of experience in the education field. Throughout these years, I continue to have opportunities to put my talents to great use in various capacities. As an academic coach I facilitate professional development training, as well as mentor and support teachers. As an instructor, I plan and deliver proficient lessons to various student subgroups within the classroom. Being the grade level team leader allows for providing ongoing support to team members as a whole and individually. A true highlight is that of mentoring student teachers, as well as co-instructing with a university professor for a class cohort.There are also times during my evenings and the weekends when I find myself connecting with people. It is through two organizations, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Inc. that I am surrounded by phenomenal women, men and children. Being a part of these two organizations allows me to take part in our missions of community service and service to others. Recently I was awarded the CCSD Osborne School Council OSCAR: Staff Member of the Year 2018-2019 for Birney Elementary, which was an honor I received from my co-workers.
