With 15 years of broadcast journalism experience that includes leading teams within a newsroom, I bring a unique perspective to internal communications. My current focus is creating and executing companywide internal communications strategies to help employees better understand company culture, strategy and their role in the company’s success. My work includes internal communications of the content strategy for National News Literacy Week, internal communications for the Scripps Howard Foundation, including its “If You Give a Child a Book …” campaign and shooting and editing internal videos of the Scripps senior leaders’ messages to employees. I get to stay close to my journalism roots by identifying, writing and researching stories of quality journalism at The E.W. Scripps Company, employee promotions and accolades. We post those stories on our intranet, and our company social media channels. I oversee the internal communication team delivery systems including, managing the content on our intranet and employee app. Another focus of my work includes creating effective communication strategies for the Information Technology (IT) department, including IT changes and software rollouts that help people realize why the change is being made. My projects include integration communications after an acquisition, launching Zoom video conferencing to the enterprise over one weekend in March 2020 and rolling out and training on an emergency text messaging system. I work with the IT strategy and planning, infrastructure, business solutions and cybersecurity teams. Some of my most fulfilling projects include being the point person for our corporate United Way and ArtsWave fundraising campaigns. The campaigns help raise money for the most vulnerable in our community and raises much-needed funding for creating a vibrant arts community in Cincinnati. Before joining the Scripps corporate team in 2012, I served as executive producer at WCPO in Cincinnati, Ohio, leading a team of producers, reporters and MMJs. I also worked as the executive producer of "Ten Years Later: A Changed City?" series of 30 stories in 30 days and as a supervising producer for documentary "Ten Years Later: A Changed City?"
