I am combining part-time work at Sølvberget library with online studies at OsloMet (bibliotek of informasjonsvitenskap).

I volunteered as a Norwegian teacher for a semester teaching level B2 to adults.

My OsloMet librarian studies required 3 months of work experience. I chose to spend my internship at Arcosanti’s archive in Arizona, which was an incredibly meaningful and educational experience. The Arcosanti project has been aimed at designing sustainable and community-enhancing living spaces since it was founded in 1970 by Italian architect and visionary Paolo Soleri.I was fortunate to be able to study this community’s unique architectural and cultural history and learn among other things about “arcology”, urban designs that combine architecture and ecology. I also learnt a lot about the methodical, detailed and rewarding work that an archive collection requires in terms of carefully preserving the past as well as documenting the present.

I initially worked at Rådhusmarka over the summer for a month, and later got a position there for three months on my year off. I learnt alot about working with children, and found out what a rewarding experience it could be.Since then and have combined part-time work there with work-away on organic and permaculture farms and on-line librarian studies. I’ve always enjoyed the warm, international environment at these kindergartens and have learnt a lot about pedagogy and discovered a passion for children’s literature along the way.

Working as a tour guide for Spanish and English tourists in South-West Norway has entailed assignments in Kristiansand, Stavanger and Bergen. It's a flexible job that gives me the opportunity to work in beautiful surroundings, learn about local history and meet lots of new people!

This summer job involved helping tourists with and any questions they had concerning local sights, transport and accommodation. It enabled me to learn alot about the exciting culture and history of the area.
