With ONE bacterial strain, we can create a WORLD of colors. E.biodye comes from a biodesign innovation process, as we can change how textile dyes are produced and applied from a linear production model to a systemic, circular, and ecological approach. We create a variety of colors that are sustainable, biodegradable, and an alternative to petroleum-based dyes.

I offer in-depth sustainable fashion solutions and circular economy knowledge and experience to fashion brands and business leaders. I also directed top brands to adopt and implement effective environmental sustainability solutions and bio-innovations for products and packaging such as Converse. I collaborated with marketing and R&D teams to develop groundbreaking sustainable solutions by tracking and reporting sustainable development innovations and communicating sustainability across partners and clients.

I was responsible for researching and teaching sustainable fashion within the supply chain, developing new materials, tackling textile waste, micro-plastics, inefficient production systems, and embracing circular business models. Directed Manifest 4, a sustainable design fashion project upcycling police uniforms with 18 Colombian fashion designers such as Johanna Ortiz, Kika Vargas, Olga Piedrahita, and others. Apart from launching and orchestrating circular projects across the core curriculum with industry business partners such as Converse Second Life: #Converse Renew, I served as a subject matter expert in the fashion industry's sustainability issues from extraction to post-consumer behavior. I partnered with cross-functional departments including biology, synthetic biology, and chemical engineering to address environmental and sustainability issues by innovating products in materials and textile fibers such as Woocoa (vegan wool), NanoFreeze (bacteria-based refrigeration system), and Linneo (bio-cosmetic). From this experience, I am part of the startup E.dye Pigments, NanoFreeze, and Woocoa.

I was instrumental in instituting and establishing an undergraduate thirty-course curriculum for the first sustainable bachelor’s degree in fashion design in Latin America. I also built and developed the Fashion and Nanotechnology Lab with the help of Cornell University. Additionally, I instituted robust working liaisons for students, faculty distinguished industry partners, designers, and artists.
