Amarillo native Carolina Cantrell holds a BS in Bible and English Literature from Dallas Christian College. She completed an internship in Tanzania, East Africa focused on translation from Swahili to the tribal language Kikami during her time at DCC. Upon graduation, Carolina served as an inner-city missionary with World Impact in Dallas, Texas, working specifically to address the needs of women and children in poverty. She then served as Assistant Director of Individual Giving at St. Mark's School of Texas in Dallas, securing alumni gifts during the silent phase of the $112 million Centennial Challenge campaign. In 2009, Carolina began working for her parents' business, Accent West Magazine in Amarillo, Texas. From 2012-2020, Carolina owned and operated Walden Cattle, LLC, a cow-calf operation in Swisher, Randall, and Potter counties, Texas.Carolina has served as a volunteer director/advisor on several non-profit boards for organizations in the Texas Panhandle including the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, St. Mary's Cathedral School, Amarillo Symphony Guild, Amarillo Museum of Art Alliance, and Women's Philanthropy Fund, administered by the Amarillo Area Foundation. She is a fourth-generation member of DAR and a third-generation member of PEO, Chapter Z.In 2016, Carolina and Tommy Blasingame self-published his book Cowboy and Roping Stories which highlights memories from Tommy's life on the JA and other ranches throughout the southwest. Carolina has followed in her father's footsteps in managing Accent West Magazine, the oldest print magazine in Texas, while maintaining her role as Director of Development (2017-2022) at Turn Center, the only non-profit in the Texas panhandle providing physical, occupational, and speech therapy for children.In 2018, she was recognized by the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce as “Top 20 Under 40," a list of young business leaders and up-and-comers in the Amarillo area.
