I oversee Antofagasta Minerals' relationship with international and Chilean media outlets. As one of the world's largest copper producers, the company is keen on maintaining a solid and transparent relationship with the press, both domestically and abroad. I draft most of our press statements and keep executives informed of media trends and comments. I also serve as the press liaison with Antofagasta plc's Investor Relations office in London and our project in the US, Twin Metals Minnesota. Am part of the corporate Communications team that includes Internal Communications, Digital and Social Media, as well as the Communications teams at all our mining operations and projects. Have dealt with many crisis situations, managed advertising campaigns and coordinated the company´s role as title sponsor of the ABB FIA Formula E's Antofagasta Minerals Santiago E-Prix. During 2020, I served as Interim Assistant Communications Manager for our three operations in the Antofagasta region, where I picked up experience in Internal Communications in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Oversaw Dow Jones Newswires/Wall Street Journal coverage of Chile news. I wrote about mining and economic news while another reporter covered corporate and energy news. Also oversaw the Santiago-based Spanish translation desk for Dow Jones en Español. Focused on local financial markets, copper and gold mining, macroeconomic and monetary policy. Got to visit many copper mines, interviewed Chile´s President, Finance Minister, Codelco CEO, Central Bank Governor, and many, many executives. Also covered the 2010 earthquake, the rescue of 33 trapped miners, President Obama's visit to Chile and made the front page of the Wall Street Journal, but the story I loved the most was the one I wrote about the ALMA radio telescope.

Wrote about bacteria and automation in mining and had to deal with a month-long strike at Escondida, the world's largest copper mine.
