16 years experience as a Law Costs Draftsman, involving preparation of costs schedules & formal Bills of Costs; preparation of costs budgets, attendance at costs management hearings, preparation of Points of Dispute & Replies; negotiation and advocacy at Detailed Assessment hearings.I have worked in the costs field from 1999 when I began my career at Whittles Solicitors in Leeds. I then progressed to the Costs Department at Walker Morris, where I gained extensive experience in preparing Bill of Costs on a variety of cases both commercial and civil, and attending detailed assessment hearings all over the country from places as far flung as Newcastle and Canterbury.Upon being headhunted by Rickson Solicitors (now DWF LLP) I was invited to instigate an in-house costs department, which has now grown to circa 30 costs team members, providing drafting and advocacy services for the entire firm, and dealing predominantly with catastrophic injury, industrial disease, personal injury, clinical negligence, banking and property matters.I am currently a partner at A-Z Legal Partnership LLP utilising my extensive experience and expertise to provide a full range of costs recovery services to a wide range of professional clients.
