Founder, Beloved Books Bookmobile, A Literacy 501(C)3 Non-Profit Organization
Current• Created a literacy 501(C)3 non-profit organization launching a mobile library for underserved populations, specifically kids. • Caroline Ahmann, a certified preK-5 teacher, founded Bookmobile.• Launched the Beloved Books Bookmobile in 2021 to enable kids to learn to read and have access to free books.• Designed the bookmobile to appeal to kids and encourage them to come inside and pick a book. • Reviewed hundreds of books to select the most appropriate ones, providing a wide range of reading levels from nonreaders to books up to an 8th-grade level.• Developed relationships with school administrators to visit the elementary schools and got referrals to other places inside the community to visit.• Made over 750 visits to date.• Founder, called the Book Lady by students, greets each student, learns about their interests, and assesses the reading level to make appropriate recommendations. • Managed the book inventory and replenish the book supply after each visit.• Developed reading programs with school and offer incentives to encourage kids to read. • Taught and tutored kids how to read.
