As a librarian in a private independent school for the past 25 years, 16 of those as Head Librarian, I've overseen every aspect of the day-to-day running of the library program including collection development, faculty and staff hiring and professional development, database and serials selection, and readers advisory. I've worked with my team of faculty librarians and staff to turn the library into an integral part of the school community and have made the Upper Division library the hub of the division where students come to study, research, read, and hang out with friends in their off periods. Over the years this commitment to building the program has resulted in a substantial increase in the use of our collection; the library circulates nearly 30,000 books a year to almost 1,200 Middle and Upper Division students and approximately 400 staff and faculty members from Nursery Division-Upper Division, all of whom have access to the library's collection.In addition, I've served as the Director of Summer School since 2010, shepherding approximately 150 students each summer through one-, three-, five- and six-week academic and enrichment programs. Since 2015, I've held the position of Director of Student Activities, Upper Division, in charge of all UD assemblies; Senior Events, including graduation and prom; club and publication collaboration to bring events to campus; and I've organized, scheduled, and have run the Upper Division's Book Day program -- the all-school read -- for 25 years, creating a model that other schools across the country have adopted. In 2020 I also took over as Archives Manager and have spear-headed a five-year plan to digitize and catalog every document, photo, film, and school ephemera for research use by students, faculty, alumni, and the Development Office.
