The business had reduced in size to a portfolio of 130 stores with a renewed focus on profit protection. Providing commercial and consistent ER support as part of a business partnering relationship with two Regional Managers Analysis of store performance data including absence, turnover, appraisals and engagement to devise a robust people plan  Worked with L&D to deliver training and ensure consistent performance management of the Apprentice cohort  Management of multiple redundancy programmes

In the not-for-profit sector, the Kennel Club is the UK’s largest organisation dedicated to protecting and promoting the health and welfare of all dogs. 220 office and call centre staff are split across two sites. -Responsible for the Human Resources, L&D and Payroll services on a strategic and operational level, in co-operation with the Executive team -Project Manager for end-to-end implementation of new HR system -Management of all ER issues, employee benefits, senior recruitment and selection and ISO quality management requirements

HMV is the leading specialist retailer of music, film, games and technology products and operated 250 stores in the UK and Ireland. During the period worked, HMV also owned Waterstones booksellers with 300 stores in the UK, Ireland and Europe.April 2010-October 2011-Managed newly created “askhr” support centre for all HMV and Waterstones branches. -Led team of four to provide commercial ER advice to two culturally different organisations.-Drove retail performance management through coaching the line.-Built rapid relationships, many remotely, to influence large pool of Regional and Divisional Managers across both Companies. November 2011-date (HMV only)-Business Partnered high-profile flagship Regional Managers for West End and Greater London. Influenced, challenged and coached to produce action plans and achieve commercial people solutions.-Implemented the HR strategy including succession planning, career development and engagement; worked with L&D to identify training solutions.-Managed restructure projects including warehouse/store closures, redeployment and Companywide contract change project.

Jane Norman is one of the UK’s most successful young fashion brands, with some of the highest sales per square metre in the industry. The brand has carved a niche in the UK retail market, targeting 16 to 25-year-old fashion-conscious women with fast and affordable adaptations of catwalk trends.-Led the HR team of five through substantial Company growth from 60 stores to over 200 stores including several international branches. Ensured all openings were fully staffed following effective recruitment campaigns. -Handled Head Office restructures including redundancy and redeployment.-Managed all Company ER issues including coaching to empower line management and chairing appeals. -Worked closely with Payroll Manager to improve working practices and accuracy rates. Held team training sessions and coached as necessary. Responsible for monthly payroll sign-off of over £1million. -Negotiated PSL agreements with Recruitment consultancies resulting in improved budget planning.

-Built relationships with Regional and Branch managers and advised on all personnel issues, including disciplinary and redundancy procedures.-Responsible for recruitment and selection Companywide.-Devised and presented Payroll and Personnel Workshops for all branch managers. -Managed monthly payroll cycle and relationship with outsourced Payroll Company. -Managed and appraised one member of office staff.

Episode was an international bridge market ladieswear retailer, operating stand alone stores and concessions throughout the UK and Eire and employing 250 staff. -Managed all Head Office facilities and booked all travel requirements Companywide.-PA to Retail Operations Director and Chairman. -Chaired Conference Committee; organised two day Sales Conference for up to 120 international delegates on a biannual basis. Sole responsibility for budget of £80k.
