I wrote daily news stories about politics and state government in Alabama. I covered the Alabama legislature when they are in session but also cover a wide range of topics including education, criminal justice, prisons, health care, COVID-19 and the recent redistricting process.

I was elected to be the Editor In Chief of my college's student newspaper my senior year. Before being elected I worked on the paper the three years before I was a senior. My duties as Editor In Chief include setting up weekly meetings where we discuss what are the upcoming events and what stories we want to pursue. I help my fellow editors with managing their reporters and help out with possible story ideas. I am the main editor for all the stories before they are published on our website (blogs.hanover.edu/traingle). I have updated and maintained our current website and am working towards improving it currently. While doing all this administrative work I also find time to write my own articles and conduct my own reporting on stories that pertain to the students of Hanover college or the state of the college in general.

I was responsible for fact-checking articles, preparing articles to be published on their website or for their monthly print magazine. I helped with any research project or archival project that the editors asked of me to do. I also participated in helping report on a city-wide protest event that was going on in Chicago, the Chicago Public Schools strike that happened in March. I helped go out and interview strikers and then wrote about it and it was put into a joint article and put online. I also sit in on editorial meetings, headlines meetings, and other meetings when needed. I occasionally help write small inserts that go into the magazine as well.
