While in this role, I completed various tasks to assist in quality assurance for process capability and industrialization of new gas turbine technology components. I was tasked with defect tracking for new builds, as well as tool life and cost-out for new component drilling. Also, I had ownership of numerous blue light inspection programs and production implementation. I also helped design new fixtures and inspection tools to track and inspect different incoming parts to the lab.
As part of my Master's in Mechanical Engineering program at Clemson, I conducted research to find an optimal laser scanning pattern in the DMLS process; the optimal laser scanning pattern should strive to reduce the residual and transient thermal stresses on a built part, thus reducing the deformation outcomes caused from the uneven heating and cooling. This work utilizes MATLAB and Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/CAE.
I helped assist patrons in climbing related activities, including communicating safety protocol, teaching climbing methods, and managing the wall during use.
I worked with fellow students and professors to research MetaMaterials in order to create a material that has the same properties of another material based on geometry.
I cover the many different topics that are involved in Mechanical Engineering, including but definitely not limited to physics, calculus, thermodynamics, fluid systems, and machine design. I also do research in manipulating the geometry of one material to have the properties of another.
