About Caroline Clarke

Award-winning journalist, author, brand architect, public speaker, and broadcaster with an impeccable reputation as a connector, moderator, thought leader and master storyteller. I’m a hands-on creator of successful ventures and brands — most notably, Black Enterprise Women of Power; and the Telly Award winning video show (2020) "On the Clock with Caroline Clarke" — with extensive experience building and sustaining compelling win/win partnerships. I was drawn to journalism by a desire to mine and tell stories in ways that would have broad, meaningful impact and trigger positive, lasting change. Despite several transformational shifts in media and my career, my core motivation has stayed consistent: I seek to bring excellence and authenticity to everything I do, aiming to drive positive, measurable, sustainable outcomes, and to inspire. In 2005, I led the team that created Women of Power. The company’s most successful new brand launch in a decade, Women of Power quickly became Black Enterprise’s (BE’s) profit leader and maintained that position, demonstrating consistent growth under my leadership for more than 16 years. Centered on the Women of Power Summit, the nation’s largest annual conference for black women business leaders, the brand has a multi-platform presence including digital, social, print and live media. I developed and hosted the syndicated Women of Power TV show from its inception in 2013 to 2018. Women of Power Tech, a conference that launched virtually in Fall 2020, established the blueprint for BE’s broad menu of outstanding virtual events. After more than 25 years, I left BE in 2021 to focus more fully on writing projects. I excel at convening the best and brightest for groundbreaking conversations about the critical issues of our time. I relish the ability to make things happen, not just report on them, and to present topics and narratives in ways that enable people to think differently about things they thought they already knew so they can take informed, decisive action. My three books include “Take a Lesson: Today's Black Achievers on How They Made It & What They Learned Along the Way” and the memoir, “Postcards from Cookue.” In 2024, I collaborated on the New York Times bestseller “ Grown Woman Talk” by Sharon Malone MD, which was endorsed by Michelle Obama. My next collaboration will be published in early 2025.
