•Monitored and evaluated colon cancer mortality, screening, and detection rates within NYC Community Health Survey data sets by various subcategories such as race and income, and worked to increase screening rates through screening guidelines and programs.•Worked with Health Informatics department and FQHC's to conduct baseline assessments of colon cancer screening as a quality measure for primary care centers throughout New York. Conducted background research related to quality measurement and reimbursement. •Planned NYC’s annual Citywide Colon Cancer Control Coalition (C5) Summit, with over 250 participants (including doctors, patient navigators, and community members) to improve cancer-screening rates and identify patient barriers to screening. • Conducted research to aid in policy positions regarding topics such as NYC Colon Cancer Screening Guidelines. This included literature reviews on cancer screening behaviors, quality of screening tests, and Affordable Care Act insurance coverage policy implications. •Helped to develop presentations, one-pagers, and talking points for presentations related to program initiatives and updates, screening guidelines, and screening rates. • Engaged with the primary care team, federally qualified health centers, and endoscopy centers to increase colon cancer screening rates. through various programs. • Assisted with study and subsequent report on assessing racial disparities based on a NYC based on a mixed method, qualitative and quantitative study of breast cancer disparities in delays along the continuum of care.
