Reporting to the Board, I am responsible for developing and executing strategic plans, managing budgets, strategic communications, destination marketing and fostering relationships with government entities to advocate for the region's wineries. With a strong focus on operational excellence, I work with the technical committee, leverage the latest research and lead a team to plan and execute an engaging calendar of industry training covering a range of oenological and viticulture topics. I also support members’ responses to emerging issues, changes in legislation and other issues with advocacy, training or new events.I am agile to respond to emerging topics and consult closely with our members, Board, committees and industry partners to understand industry needs and solutions. I have also led the development of annual regional events including “Rose Evolution” and “Yarra Valley Fireside” to build trade and consumer engagement with the region and our members’ businesses. I also work collaboratively to advocate for and promote Australian wine and I am a Committee Member on the Marketing Project Working Group for Wine Australia.Organisational growth, sustainability and governance are key aspects of my role and I prepare grant applications and manage the P&L; accountable for Board reporting, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
