I have been working at my current medical office for the past 2.5 years. I have learned a great deal there about how to handle each patient because they are all unique. We have a good many elderly patients and there is so much to be learned from them. They are all so very sweet. My coworkers there took me in wonderfully to show me the ropes as the practice is very large and complex. I learn more and more every day. The doctor that I work with is also extremely knowledgeable and aware of the latest in the medical field. This provides me even more to learn from him to improve on what I know and expand. I love to learn and take in as much as possible because my goal to be the best medical professional that I can be. I am proficient in all clinical tests I am allowed to perform such as flu tests, strep tests, EKG’s, vital signs, and have also been taught how to remove an IV after we give fluids occasionally in the office. I also assist the provider in any minor procedures he wishes to do in the office which include removing skin tags, putting in a few stitches and removal, as well as any injections he wishes to do for shoulders, knees, and tender point injections. We use an EMR system so am well capable of using one. We triage patient calls, send in medications approved my the provider, inform patients of result notes once they have been reviewed by the provider and schedule patient appts. We use Microsoft office for various things so am capable of using that as well. As I stated before, I am always open to learning new things to broaden my skills as taking care of people is my passion.
