United Way’s Strong Individuals and Families Impact Council ensures all individuals and families are stable, flourish economically, reach their full potential and maintain a quality of life free of discrimination. Through a collaborative process involving 26 diverse community stakeholders, the Strong Individuals and Families Issue Council has designated three themes to focus our work.1) strategies that focus on family and individual advancement by supporting increased income through access to education and employment; 2) strategies that focus on resiliency by increasing the capacity to respond to changes in environmental, economic and family situations that do no harm to themselves or others; and, 3) strategies that focus on stability by increasing efforts to ensure economic stability and financial success.•Coordination and communication of the Impact Council’s meeting and training calendar. •Collaborate with the Impact Council Co-Leads, Impact Council Partners and the marketing team in the design and development of promotional information, presentations, and events including brochures, pamphlets, newsletters, community events, and publicity promoting activities of the United Way.•Network with partner agencies to ensure access and support of the community’s identified needs.•Develop and implement referral policies and processes to ensure that clients get connected to community services.•Serve as staff point of contact for communications including printed materials and social media.Assist in the development, coordination and implementation of outreach events and activities.

Healthy Outcomes through Prevention and Early Support (HOPES) is a $1.8M grant from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services- Prevention and Early Intervention Divison. Project HOPES is a collaborative, sustainable and innovative continuum of care providing a wide variety of innovative community-based initiatives and supports for families with children zero to five years of age. The focus is to strive for San Antonio children to grow up in healthy and safe home, and reduce the risk of child abuse, neglect, and other negative outcomes. When it comes to helping people, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Our partners offer a wide range of support services designed to help individuals and families navigate the different challenges that arise with each phase of life. Partners include: Any Baby Can, Catholic Charities, The Center for Health Care Services, The Children's Shelter, Depelchin, Family Service Association, Martinez Street Women's Center, KLRN, and Respite Care.•Demonstrate successful execution of strategies for programming and services. •Determine opportunities and develop a plan to create, sustain, and expand community resources that focus on the prevention of child maltreatment. •Establish, cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders/non-profit organizations to determine and leverage opportunities.•Work closely with Research and Evaluation team to determine program effectiveness; make changes to service delivery as needed; support with assessments and data entry into the Texas Health and Human Services PIERS and Signify Technologies databases.•Facilitate collaboration and ongoing communication among frontline staff for increase service delivery towards achieving community results and meeting parent needs.•Coordinate activities and manage the budget in order to fund operations and increase efficiency.•Collaborate with community marketing company to produce digital and printed materials.

The Dual Generation Initiative equips families with the supports, tools, and resources needed to help guide the family unit toward self-sufficiency. Dual Generation believes that when the family is stable the children thrive. To this end,the Dual Generation program provides quality childcare for children of families in job training to increase the opportunity for successful completion of training by the adult and strengthen the child in development growth and school readiness.The Dual Generation initiative is a collaboration using a collective impact model to build on strong community partnerships that promote positive change for families. Those partners include five (5) area childcare centers, Goodwill Industries, the City of San Antonio Early Head Start program, Family Service Association, Alamo Colleges, Workforce Solutions Alamo and the San Antonio Housing Authority. Dual Generation services are focused on the east side Promise Zone designated area of San Antonio.•Managed overall grant compliance. Funders and evaluators included: The Annie E. Casey Foundation, Siemer Institute, Bank of America, Doris Duke Foundation, and Urban Institute. •Helped families remove barriers and access comprehensive wrap-around resources through strong partnerships. •Conducted monthly Practitioner meetings for front line staff to discuss program implementation. •Networked with partners and stakeholders to ensure access and support to family’s identified needs. •Designed promotional information and presentations. •Ensured clear communication through social media, website design and any printed material. •Supported recruitment strategies to reach, encourage, and sustain family enrollment and involvement. •Planned monthly parent engagement events.

The Eastside Promise Neighborhood Grant was a $24M Department of Education grant to revitalize the Eastside of San Antonio. I assisted with overall project compliance, planning to support strategic programmatic goals, and facilitated collaboration with stakeholders. As the Family Navigator, my role was to advocate for the success of Eastpoint and Promise Zone families. This included helping families obtain and utilize resources needed for children to succeed academically and families to achieve stability and self-sufficiency. I was also in charge of planning large community events, creating promotional materials, website design, and growing our presence on social media.

Wheatley Middle School

My primary role was to help engage parents, families and the community on the campus and to assist in the attainment of district goals by collaborating with school and district staff in developing and implementing a parent and community involvement program. This program included parenting classes, volunteer opportunities, monthly campus wide events, and creating an inviting atmosphere in the parent room.

City Year is a national service Americorps program that unites young adults from diverse backgrounds for a demanding year of full-time community service. National service helps young people develop into leaders, problem solvers and more active citizens. City Year helps students and schools succeed by delivering holistic support to students, classrooms and the whole school. •Trained and led a team of (7) diverse corps members through full time service including tutoring and mentoring. •Facilitated Idealist Journey curriculum and additional trainings to corps members.•Provided peer coaching to team members to increase service delivery and corps experience.•Developed and maintained a sustainable school relationship with faculty and staff. Partnering with educators to support and mentor students so they can fully take advantage of their interests and skills.•Organized, planned, and delegated over 30 school wide projects.
