I supported senior clients in all aspects of public affairs, including strategic planning, influencing legislation, building stakeholder relations and political events.

I volunteered at the Democratic National Committee's HQ, and was placed in the Political Department - working to the Political Director. My role was to assist in the drafting, editing and updating of key political briefings given to senior members of the campaign (the President, Vice President, Chair of DNC etc) for when they travelled to each state.

I took on a temporary three month contract at leading mental health charity Mind after my return from six months travelling in South America. Working with the campaigns, policy and parliamentary teams, I helped to sharpen and clarify the team's focus, and turning wide-ranging priorities and aspirations into a clearer programme of activity.

I took a temporary role as Labour Group Advisor at local government body London Councils, supporting London Labour Leaders and elected Mayors in their work in the cross-party organisation. I acted as group spokesperson, provided political insight and support, and kept everyone informed of latest thinking.

Based in Westminster and liaising closely with both ministerial and constituency offices, I worked for senior Labour minister Yvette Cooper MP during her period as Housing Minister.

Working for leading disability charity Mencap, I built and led national campaigns, including building a coalition of major housing, children's and disability charities to secure over £11 million to abolish the means test of a housing grant for disabled children.

I was responsible for devising and managing a Parliament-funded project to assess how Parliament could better engage with the public.
