As a Lead Advisor, Federal Affairs at SHRM, I have over 15 years of experience in tax policy lobbying and government affairs, providing strategic advice and advocacy to trade associations, law firms, and legislators on Capitol Hill. My career is focused on bridging the disconnect between outdated laws and 21st-century technologies.I have successfully led and contributed to multiple legislative and regulatory initiatives that have resulted in positive outcomes, such as ending the telephone excise tax, securing the Internet tax moratorium, protecting stock options for employees, and influencing the Dodd-Frank legislation. I have also developed and executed advocacy strategies, written and delivered testimony, position papers, and industry reports, and represented SHRM at national industry events. I have strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in the federal government, and I use my communication skills to present complex information in an easy-to-understand format. I am passionate about translating corporate priorities to Washington and explaining Washington to corporate headquarters, and I am committed to enabling policy formation from inception to enactment.
