Experience of supporting behaviour improvementI have worked with students in many different aspects to encourage and work with them to improve their behaviour from  using anger management techniques, to time out cards.In all of my roles I have worked closely with families to ensure the students wellbeing is paramount. In my current position I liaise with parent  and other outside agencies on a regular basis to ensure the students are safe and  that there needs are met.   As a  member of staff and then as a safe guarding officer I have reported and dealt with a number of child protection issues and always followed procedure to ensure  the students safety. As a group tutor and a  the specialist ESBD tutor . I have completed risk assessment , held disciplinary meeting and also placed student on relevant student behaviour contracts all in line with the college policies and procedures.  Throughout my teaching career I have shown good communication skills with  external agencies, from key workers, care home staff, parents, Yot workers , social workers and also  other educational establishments. I have also worked with the local council when EHCP were introduced  to the Leeds area. In all of my teaching roles I have shown that I am able to respond appropriately to problem whether it is dealing with an incident between two students or  having to produce cover for a sick colleague .  I have  assisted students to services within the college such as counselling , assistance from the student union and also helping them with transition into other departments within the college.  I have also assisted  student into  external  courses and assisted them to access  mental health assistance and also sexual health assistance. Within LeedsCity College I  was the sole tutor  I was responsible for  the social emotional support for the students on a daily basis, this included  1.1 and group tutorials.   I have  a good and current knowledge of safeguarding, Prevent, British values and also Equality and diversity and how there practise and policies are relevant and appropriate to the students and their needs and development.   I have run pastoral care for students for within a College, this was   developing a pastoral curriculum  which includes, equality and diversity, prevent, British values.  I also included practical skills such as mental health awareness , how to deal with exam stress, sex education,  money management and also anger management and how to deal with conflict.
